CROP Hunger Walks help children and families worldwide — and right here in the U.S. — to have food for today, while building for a better tomorrow. Each year some two million CROP Walkers, volunteers, and sponsors put their hearts and soles in motion, raising over $16 million per year to help end hunger and poverty around the world — and in their own communities. And you are part of it!

Our team is made up of individuals and families that are part of the NUMC community. We would like to encourage you to walk with your family, for families around the world who must walk many miles each day to access food and clean water.

If you are not able to join us this year, please consider a donation (HERE) to help our team raise awareness and funds for international relief and development as well as local hunger fighting agancies.

Over 2000 communities take part in this interfaith event each year. Won’t you help us to walk together and take a stand against hunger in our world??

Thanks,
Betsy

Peace Walk New England 2009

Peace Walk New England 2009

The 2009 Pilgrimage for Peace is an opportunity for a group of interfaith walkers to cover an average of 20 miles per day as they wend their way through all six New England states, meeting with multi-faith communities, peace groups, schools, retirement communities, and others along the way.

Participants will walk approximately 1,000 miles over 50 days. The literal steps are intended to be little steps for all toward transforming themselves and recognizing that peace starts with them.

The goal is to have conversations at the gatherings to determine how people feel they can best achieve peace in a world that is distressed, discouraged, and struggling—either for themselves or for those around them or in other parts of the world that bear more than their share of challenges.

Web Site Assitance

If you are a member of the NUMC (or attend regularly), this invitation is for you!

The webguy (Brad) is looking to expand the web team (of one) and seeks volunteers (web stewardship) who may want to assist with this (NUMC.US) web site.
This invitation is open to individuals in High School or above. If you are interested, please send a message to the “webmaster”  HERE
What skills are required?

Do not be intimidated by technology or the mysterious internet. Basic internet navigation and word processing skills are really all you need. The rest is quite easy to learn in a brief meeting with the webguy.

What will you be doing?

Those with the most basic of skill levels (and a computer with a good internet connection) from the comfort of their own homes, would be able to:

  • Update the Event calendar
