Welcome to the Newtown United Methodist Church!

We are called to be a welcoming community of loving servants of Jesus Christ.

We welcome all of God’s children and aspire to be a congregation where we actively love and serve God and other people

Our ministries include worship, Christian education for children and adults, small groups, fellowship and outreach to both the local community and the world. Regardless of where you are on your spiritual walk, we hope you will connect with us and discover here the presence of the living Christ.

Worship at NUMC takes place at 8 and 10 AM each Sunday during the school year, and at 9 AM in July and August.

Our typical style is informal traditional. We incorporate scripture, prayer, a sermon and music at each service, drawing both on old hymns and newer songs. Preaching is thematic and follows the lectionary.  People dress informally, children are welcome throughout the services and worship is usually followed by coffee and fellowship.

The 8 AM service tends to be smaller and shorter. 10 AM worship includes music by the choir (and often our chime choir) and a Children’s Conversation. Children are welcome at both services, though Sunday school is held at 10:15.

A clean, staffed nursery is provided for babies and toddlers.

Ushers are posted at the door each Sunday. If you are new, don’t hesitate to ask directions to the restroom, nursery, etc.

Refreshment time, a time for fellowship and to meet and greet, begins immediately after the 10 AM service (9 AM during Summer hours). Please come, meet and learn more about the caring community of the Newtown United Methodist Church.
