Job Description – Administrative Assistant

Reports to: Pastor & SPRC

Hours per week: 10-15 hours per week, some remote work possible

Job Summary:

This position will support the mission & function of the church administratively. The administrative assistant will provide the support to the pastor & the congregation necessary to minister to our community. Using strong interpersonal and administrative skills, the successful applicant will be able to support any various church tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer any inquiries to the church (via phone, email, social media) and direct these to the appropriate church staff/member, if necessary
  • Welcome any members or guests to the church during working hours and assist with any needs
  • Manage the church calendar and schedule events for the church rooms
  • Manage the database/records of church members
    • create/edit/maintain accurate church membership records to reflect life events or change of address
  • Manage & schedule vendors (copiers, cleaning, etc)
  • Create & distribute worship bulletins (weekly & special services)
  • Assist pastor & other staff with mailings, social media, information requests & occasional special needs
  • Process any mail and/or packages that are delivered to the church
  • Recruit, train & supervise volunteers as needed for routine or special administrative projects
  • Perform any office related tasks as assigned

  • Confidentiality: Personal & sensitive information must be kept confidential


  • Experience in an administrator position
  • Strong computer skills
    • Ability to develop & maintain spreadsheets required
  • Ability to create bulletins & other documents required
    • Knowledge of social media platforms
    • Ability to schedule online meetings (Zoom)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs when needed


Hourly rate of $16. Part-time position will require approximately 10-15 hours/week. No paid sick/holiday/vacation time nor benefits are available with this position.
