Light It Up Blue
Autism Awareness
April 2nd
Light It Up Blue is annually observed on April 2.  It is dedicated to raising awareness of Autism. The initiative is generally associated with Autism Speaks.  It is intended to raise international awareness of Autism in support of both World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month in the United States.
Our Mission Moment on Sunday April, 2nd will be given by Linda Jones, Founder of Families United in Newtown, (F.U.N.) to promote awareness of Autism in our community and celebrate the monthly program that NUMC supports!  Join F.U.N. after the 10:00 a.m. service at coffee hour.  We will be serving “Blue”-berry Crisp with whipped cream and Autism Awareness cupcakes – Coffee and Tea.

P.S.  We will also be selling our Puzzle Piece pins and Chocolate bars to support brain research .

Lenten Small Group Study

“Final Words from the Cross”

Beginning the week of March 5, there will be a six week Lenten study using Adam Hamilton’s book, Final Words from the Cross.  Using biblical characters associated with the Passion story, we will delve each week into a different saying of Jesus from the cross and discuss how we can apply these words to our own life.  Participants will read Hamilton’s book and then come together for weekly sessions that will include a video component, discussion, and brief fellowship time.

Evening sessions will be Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9 PM; day time sessions will be Thursdays 1 to 2:30 PM

Lent is a good time to go deeper into our faith and our understanding both of God and the Biblical witness to God.  If you would like to participate or have questions please contact Pastor Lori

~ John Wesley ~

Wesley Covenant Prayer

I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing.

I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
