HYMN

“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love;

Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.

Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away.

Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began;

Love divine is reigning o’er us, binding all within its span.

Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife;

Joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life.

“Christ Is Risen”

Christ is risen! Shout Hosanna! Celebrate this day of days.

Christ is risen! Hush in wonder, all creation is amazed.

In the desert all-surrounding, see a spreading tree has grown.

Healing leaves of grace abounding bring a taste of love unknown.

Christ is risen! Raise your spirits from the caverns of despair.

Walk in gladness in the morning. See what love can do and dare.

Drink the wine of resurrection, not a servant, but a friend;

Jesus is our strong companion. Joy and peace shall never end!

The Day of Resurrection

The day of resurrection!Earth, tell it out abroad; the Passover of gladness, the Passover of God.

From death to life eternal, from earth unto the sky, our Christ hath brought us over, with hymns of victory.

Our hearts be pure from evil, that we may see aright the Lord in rays eternalof resurrection light;

and listening to his accents, may hear, so calm and plain, his own “All hail” and, hearing, may raise the victory strain.

Easter People, Raise Your Voices

Easter people, raise your voices, sounds of heaven in earth should ring.Christ has brought us heaven’s choices;heavenly music, let it ring.Alleluia!Alleluia!Easter People, let us sing.

Fear of death can no more stop us from our pressing here below.For our Lord empowered us to triumph over every foe. Alleluia!Alleluia!On to victory now we go,

INVITATION TO HOLY COMMUNION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING FOR HOLY THURSDAY

The Lord be with you!

And also with you!

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

It is right to give God thanks and praise.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing always and everywhere to give thanks to you…and so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest!  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.  Hosanna in the highest.

Holy are you and blessed is your Son, Jesus Christ….And so in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving, as we proclaim the mystery of faith:

Christ has died.  Christ is risen.  Christ will come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here…..through your Son Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor and glory is yours, almighty God, now and forever.  Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

THE GIVING

Pastor Lori will walk us through this time of receiving together, separately.  As you receive the bread, receive the substance of Christ.  As you receive the cup, receive his great love for you.

PRAYER AFTER RECEIVING

HYMN

“Go to Dark Gethsemane”

Go to dark Gethsemane, ye that feel the tempter’s power.

Your Redeemer’s conflict see, watch with him one bitter hour.

Turn not from his griefs away, Learn of Jesus Christ to pray.

 –

See him in the judgment hall, beaten, bound, reviled, arraigned.

O the wormwood and the gall, O the pangs his souls sustained!

Shun not suffering shame or loss, Learn of Christ to bear the cross.

 –

Calvary’s mournful mountain climb, there adoring at his feet.

Mark that miracle of time, God’s own sacrifice complete.

“It is finished,” hear him cry.  Learn of Jesus Christ to die.

 –

Early hasten to the tomb, where they laid his breathless clay.

All is solitude and gloom.  Who has taken Him away?

Christ is risen! He meets our eyes.  Savior, teach us so to rise.
