Beyond the congregation and church staff, the committees that exist are working parts of the church’s operation. Each committee plays a key role in supporting the church staff, congregation, community and greater UMC organization. Committee chairpersons make up the overall decision making body called, Church Council.

Church Council
Oversees and votes on matters of church policy. The Council also sets goals and the direction for the church. In general, this representative council membership consists of chairpersons from all church committees.

Trustees Committee
Trustees – The Trustees are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of church property. In addition to taking care of the building and property, this committee reviews insurance policies, building use policies, etc.

Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
SPRC – All personnel issues are handled by the SPRC including hiring, discharging and performance reviews. SPRC is charged with monitoring and facilitating the relationship between the congregation and its staff members. The church staff includes the senior pastor, the associate pastor, the deacon, and the secretary.

Worship Committee
Worship Committee – The Worship Committee deals with all elements of the worship service. They work closely with the pastor to plan for holidays, decorate the altar, schedule special music, and much more..

Finance Committee
Responsibilities of the Finance Committee include reviewing the church budget, providing guidance to the treasurer, and making recommendations to the Council about the use of funds.
